An ornamental altar finial comprising abundant gilded scrolls and plant motifs framing a central decorative shield crowned by a polychromed cherub’s head. The composition displays a marked Baroque dynamism through contrasting curves and three-dimensional reliefs, whilst the gilding contrasts with the rosy flesh tones and polychrome details of the child’s face.
