Description
19TH-CENTURY EUROPEAN SCHOOL - Traditional Bagpipe
Turned wood, leather and fabric. Measures approximately 67 cm in length. An interesting traditional musical instrument crafted from turned wood with a leather bag covered in fabric, representing 19th-century European artisanal production. The instrument features an elegant design comprising drones and a chanter made of dark wood, decorated with turned mouldings in a folk style. The bag retains an attractive patina of age and shows signs of functional use typical of this type of instrument, which is associated with folk and ceremonial music. The formal balance of the whole and the ethnographic interest of the piece, representative of 19th-century European rural musical traditions, are particularly noteworthy. It shows wear, cracking and signs of use consistent with its age. Lot held in an international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU. An export licence from the country of origin may be required.
