Large Neo-Gothic Triptych, French School, early 19th century Repoussé and patinated copper. Dimensions: 146 x 71 x 8 cm; 292 x 71 x 4 cm. A Neo-Gothic triptych comprising three hinged copper panels, decorated with a succession of saints sheltered beneath pointed arches, tracery and architectural motifs inspired by medieval Gothic architecture. The central structure, flanked by two folding side panels, presents an iconographic programme with a clear sacred theme, in which the figures are depicted in full face with devotional gestures and solemn poses. The ornamentation of pinnacles, small arches and geometric friezes creates a rhythmic and ceremonial effect, accentuated by the warm tone of the copper and the depth of the relief.
