Set of three coloured cathedral-style leaded glass panels. Signed Maumejean. French School. 20th century. Leaded stained-glass window with polychrome glass. Dimensions: 118 x 65 cm and 165 x 65 cm for the two largest panels. A large, almost square composition featuring an upper arch and decoration arranged in two registers. In the upper section, the figure of a bishop wearing a mitre and holding a crosier stands out against a background of geometric tracery in shades of green, ochre and burgundy. The lower section is decorated with intertwined geometric motifs, clearly inspired by the Romanesque style. The treatment of the leaded glass and the vivid colours are characteristic of the Maumejean workshop, a prestigious manufacturer of religious and secular stained-glass windows since the late 19th century. This work possesses great symbolic power and a monumental presence.
