Decorative porcelain pug, made by the Austrian manufacturer Rostrand, early 20th century.
Polychrome ceramic dog figurine. Dimensions: 35 x 45 x 15 cm. Zoomorphic sculpture of a bulldog in an upright and alert stance, with its head held high and a highly expressive, frontal gaze. The modelling highlights the animal’s compact musculature, the characteristic folds of its face, and the decorative collar around its neck. The polychrome finish in shades of ochre, black and ivory accentuates the naturalism of the piece and the sculptural presence typical of Central European decorative pottery from the early 20th century.
