Jason and the Golden Fleece. After Alberto Thorvaldsen. Early 21st century Mortar and resin. Dimensions 39.5 × 23 × 8 cm. A relief panel depicting Jason holding the Golden Fleece, based on the celebrated sculpture created by Alberto Thorvaldsen in 1803. The hero is shown wearing a helmet, with a classically inspired physique and a calm, dignified stance, carrying the mythological trophy associated with one of the best-known legends of ancient Greece. The composition faithfully reproduces the original housed in the Thorvaldsen Museum, Copenhagen, which is distinguished by its high-quality modelling and finely rendered details. Crafted from mortar and resin, this panel was produced in the early 2000s and is in good overall condition.
