Gilded carved pedestal for a religious image. Spanish School. 17th century Carved, gilded and polychromed wood. Dimensions: 22 x 35 x 25 cm. Circular base with balustrade mouldings and acanthus leaf decoration. A central metal pin for attaching a statue remains at the top. The carving shows traces of the original water gilding, with a slight patina of age. This type of pedestal was used in domestic altars or chapels, serving both a structural and ornamental function within Baroque liturgical furnishings.
