Description
Moses, Grand Tour School, 19th century Cast bronze, chased and gilded on a marble plinth. Measures 33 x 11 x 10 cm. This sculpture depicts a seated Moses, with a powerful presence and a focused expression; his beard and hair are rendered with great detail and dynamism. The restrained gesture and solemn posture reinforce the spiritual and legislative character of the biblical figure. The bronze work is meticulously crafted, highlighting the quality of the chased details and the contrast between the gilded surfaces and the areas of shadow. The work belongs to the 19th-century Grand Tour tradition, inspired by Renaissance and Classical models, and was conceived as an object for collecting and study. 33 x 11 x 10 cm
