Description
Set of four pairs of early 19th-century Georgian miniature shoes (c. 1830)
Mahogany and mother-of-pearl. Dimensions: 11 × 9 × 3 cm (each piece). An exceptional set of miniature shoes, hand-carved from mahogany and richly decorated with mother-of-pearl inlay, produced in England during the Georgian period. These delicate pieces, intended as decorative or cabinet pieces, reflect the taste and craftsmanship of the era. They show minor wear consistent with their age, and one shoe is missing its fastening mechanism, but this does not detract from the remarkable charm and historical value of the set. Lot held in an international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU. An export licence from the country of origin may be required.
