18th-century French School – Sculpture of the Virgin and Child Carved and polychromed wood. Dimensions: 67 × 27 × 13 cm. A devotional sculpture depicting the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus, made in southern France during the 18th century. The figure retains traces of its original polychromy in shades of blue, a symbol of Marian purity and royalty. With its delicate modelling and serene expression, this piece reflects the spirituality and elegance of French religious imagery from the late Baroque period. The work is complete, with a beautiful patina of age. Provenance: private collection. Item held in an international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU.
