Description
Important plate by Massimo Popper, 1911/1914, 20th century 43 x 4.8 cm. Magnificent polychrome ceramic ‘Marguerite’ plate with a wide rim, short frill and wide base. The rim is decorated with metopes and triglyphs featuring geometric, floral and superimposed motifs. The centre of the base features a beautiful daisy in profile against an ochre background. On the reverse, there is a ring-shaped support with a recessed monochrome white background. In the centre, Massimo Popper’s “Manifattura Ceramica Faentina” factory mark appears in blue beneath the cover. Condition: Good, with a chip in the top right-hand corner.
