Description
Spanish walnut table with lyre legs. Spanish School. 17th century. Carved walnut. Dimensions: 76 x 44 x 67 cm. A 17th-century Spanish table with lyre legs, recognisable by their sinuous, curvilinear design, which lends dynamism to the piece. The rectangular tabletop is supported by crossbars joined by iron fittings, reinforcing its stability. The piece reflects the aesthetic evolution towards a more formal Baroque style, combining robustness with a more expressive design. An example of Castilian furniture in which the lyre-leg style became a symbol of prestige and sophistication in 17th-century furniture.
