Description
A calcite-alabaster vase carved from a single block, in the shape of a chalice With a wide, flared rim, a slightly open body resting on a tall, truncated conical foot ending in a flared base. Beautiful honey-coloured patina and white veining. The stone displays distinct honey-ochre and cream veining, a polished exterior, and a deep, hollow interior, likely intended for perfumed oils or libations. Egypt. New Kingdom. 18th Dynasty. Visible cracks and small, old chips on the rim, with a large crack extending from the inner edge, but the overall structure is stable. Slight wear and surface pitting consistent with long burial. The rim opening has been restored, with no missing pieces. Height 23 cm x diameter 14 cm. Lot held in an international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipment: no import duties apply within the EU. An export licence from the country of origin may be required.
