Bas-relief depicting the profile of Giuliano de' Medici, late 20th century Cement mortar. A bas-relief depicting the left-facing profile of Giuliano de’ Medici (Florence, 28 October 1453 – Florence, 26 April 1478), brother of Lorenzo the Magnificent, portrayed with his hair gathered at the back and dressed in Renaissance-inspired attire. The composition is set against a plain background framed by a raised border that emphasises the sculptural profile and the restrained modelling of the figure. Crafted from cement mortar, the work is a late 20th-century reinterpretation of Renaissance iconography dedicated to the celebrated member of the Medici family, who was assassinated during the Pazzi Conspiracy.
