Circle of JEAN-BAPTISTE SANTERRE (1651-1717) - Sleeping young woman with turban Oil on relined canvas. Dimensions: 82 x 66 cm (with frame). This early 18th-century French painting depicts a young woman asleep, shown from the waist up, silhouetted against a deep red background that accentuates the intimate and contemplative atmosphere of the composition. The figure gently inclines her head, her eyes closed and her hands delicately arranged, in an attitude of reverie and meditative surrender.
