Description
Manner of PIETRO BRACCI (Rome, 1700 - Rome, 1773) - Neptune/Oceanus from the Trevi Fountain Carved marble. Dimensions: height 220 cm. Monumental 19th-century marble sculpture inspired by the famous figure of Oceanus sculpted by Pietro Bracci for the Trevi Fountain in Rome. The work depicts the god in a majestic pose, with a powerful stage presence and remarkably well-defined anatomical modelling, within a fully decorative and monumental conception. It stands out for the quality of the carving, the nobility of the marble, and the beautiful patina of the surface, elements that accentuate its ornamental value and its suitability for both exterior and large interior spaces. From a private Italian collection, the sculpture is in very good condition, complete, and constitutes a remarkable 19th-century reinterpretation of one of the most emblematic models of Roman Baroque sculpture. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU. An export permit from the country of origin may be required.
