Description
Figurehead or fountain mouth with Mercury Piedro Vicenza, Italy, 20th century
Carved Vicenza stone. Dimensions: 33 x 47 x 15 cm. A unique sculptural element in the architectural tradition, representing the god Mercury, identified by the winged petasos, emblem of speed and protector of travellers, in an interpretation of great expressive power and striking decorative value. The piece, from Venice and a private collection, stands out for the quality of the carving, the precision of the anatomical details, and the extraordinary patina of the stone, which accentuates its refinement and sculptural presence. Conceived as an ornamental mask or fountain spout, it is particularly suitable for wall mounting, where its mythological character and careful execution lend it a remarkable visual impact. Made of genuine Vicenza stone, it is in very good condition and intact. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU. An export permit from the country of origin may be required.
