Exceptional Chinese dignitary of the Han dynasty, 206 BC to 220 AD. In a hieratic pose, dressed in a long-sleeved tunic that reveals his crossed hands. Terracotta with slip and polychrome pigments. Han Dynasty, 206 BC to 220 AD. Height 52 cm. Tombs from the Han period have yielded a large number of figurines of servants tasked with attending to the sentient soul of the deceased in their underground palace. These types of statuettes, called Mingqi, are often described as funerary substitutes. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipment: no import duties apply within the EU.
