Description
Cylindrical jar for cosmetics in alabaster or limestone. For ointments and perfumed oils, turned and hollowed from a single block, with a translucent structure and horizontal veins of beige, honey, and brown, used as natural decoration. The exterior wall is slightly straight, with a light sheath, a flat base, and a thickened lip, showing minor chips and wear. The interior is deeply hollowed, with circular tool marks. Overall good condition for an archaeological object from a funerary context. Egypt. Old or Middle Kingdom, 3rd-2nd millennium BC. Dynasties 4th-6th, ca. 2613-2181 BC. Height 20 cm x diameter 11.5 cm. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipment: no import duties apply within the EU. Export permit from the country of origin may be required.
