Funerary protective amulet with Anubis, guardian of the necropolis.
Embalming god with the head of a black jackal, a symbol of regeneration and protection. Realistic head with an elongated snout, erect pointed ears, and incised eyes underlined in kohl; black pleated nemes headdress with gold stripes, wide ushabti collar, and shoulders covered by a black crackled chendjit. Rare wood, well-preserved thanks to desert archaeology. Crackled organic patina and polychromy preserved in bituminous black, ochre red, and orpiment yellow. Egypt. New Kingdom or Late Period style, ca. 1500-300 BC. Height 13 cm x diameter 8 cm. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipment: no import duties apply within the EU. Export permit from the country of origin may be required.
