Leonardi Giovanni Leonardi was an Italian sculptor who worked in France from the end of the 19th century. He followed the tradition of academic decorative sculpture, favouring elegant figures and genre scenes with supple, expressive modelling. He took part in several Parisian salons and worked with various art publishers, developing a body of work for the decorative arts, particularly in bronze and regule. Between the wars, he also worked with the manufacturers in Quimper, where some of his compositions were adapted for earthenware in the decorative spirit typical of Breton production. These editions helped to disseminate his work in the field of applied arts, in conjunction with the revival of the region's ceramic factories. Expert : Philippe JAMAULT
