Miguel Condé (Pittsburgh, USA, 1939) – "Homage to the Painter" Ink on paper. Signed. Dimensions: 21 x 15 cm, framed: 44 x 34 cm. Miguel Condé (Pittsburgh, 1939) is a figurative artist specialising in painting, drawing and printmaking. Of Mexican descent, he has lived and worked between Madrid and Sitges since the late 1960s. Although much of his training was self-taught, he completed anatomy studies in New York and trained in printmaking techniques at the renowned Atelier 17 in Paris. His artistic output is characterised by a figurative style imbued with symbolism and visual poetry, featuring mysterious figures and dreamlike settings. In his works, narrative and psychological elements combine to create a highly personal iconographic universe. Throughout his career, Condé has been awarded several international grants and prizes, including a Guggenheim Fellowship. He is also a member of the Société des Peintres-Graveurs Français. His work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums across Europe and the United States, and is currently held in the collections of such prestigious institutions as the MoMA in New York, the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid, the Albertina in Vienna, and the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris. Provenance: an important private collection, Sitges.
