Street scene Signed M. Bertuchi Orientalist School 20th century Watercolour on paper. A serene Moroccan street unfolds beneath the warm light of day, flanked by whitewashed buildings in a vibrant blue evoking the colour palette of Chefchaouen. Beneath an arch framing the composition, a central figure moves towards the viewer, her face concealed and wearing a wide-brimmed hat, whilst other silhouettes blend into the architecture in the background. The interplay of shadows on the ground enhances the sense of depth and light.
