18TH-CENTURY FLEMISH SCHOOL - Tavern Scene Oil on canvas, relined and restored. Dimensions: 36 x 31 cm. Dimensions with frame: 52 x 46 cm. This work depicts a lively tavern scene, one of the most characteristic genres of 17th-century Flemish painting. Set in a typical interior, the composition captures an episode from daily life featuring figures gathered in an informal setting, reflecting the Flemish artists’ interest in the customs, entertainments and social relationships of ordinary people.
