Massive Spanish Door Gate, 17th century Iron and wood. Dimensions: 175 x 69 cm; 248 x 152 x 110 cm without frame. A vertically structured gate with a central, recessed wicket gate, reinforced with numerous iron plates and ornamental nails arranged in a geometric pattern across its entire surface. It features a wrought-iron knocker, a barred peephole, exposed hinges and a very solid frame – elements that accentuate its functional and stately character. The overall simplicity, the patina of the materials, and the quality of the ironwork evoke the Spanish tradition of the 17th century, where domestic and palatial architecture combined robust construction with rich decoration.
