Description
Bar set. Spanish folk style. 20th century.
Painted wood with original patina. A set of folk furniture comprising three square tables and two trapezoidal stools, from the well-known Tía Petra tavern. The pieces retain their original dark-toned paint, with natural wear resulting from continued use, which lends authenticity and character to the set. The robustly proportioned tables have a simple structure with straight legs joined by crossbars, whilst the stools maintain a slightly trapezoidal shape, typical of rural settings. The craftsmanship is evident in the visible joints, intentional imperfections and the use of durable materials. This set embodies the values of traditional Spanish social life, bearing witness to mid-20th-century tavern culture. Its value lies not only in its functionality but also in its symbolic significance as part of the collective popular memory. Table dimensions: 77 x 78 x 78 cm; stool dimensions: 45 x 28 x 28 cm.
