Description
Pair of Elizabethan chairs. Spanish School. 19th century
A pair of Elizabethan-style chairs in fine wood, crafted with elegant restraint. They feature a closed lyre-shaped backrest with a curvilinear structure and a moulded central crossbar. The slightly trapezoidal seat is upholstered in beige fabric with a geometric pattern and finished with a fine border around the edge. The front legs are cabriole-shaped, whilst the slightly angled rear legs harmoniously complete the silhouette. The piece stands out for its clean lines, the polished finish of the wood, and the formal coherence that evokes bourgeois furniture styles from the reign of Elizabeth II. It is part of the eclectic historicism of the 19th century, reinterpreting the elegance and functionality of classicist traditions for domestic use. Dimensions: 100 x 47 x 38 cm.
