Cartuja Fountain, Chinese series, early 20th century Underglaze blue patterned porcelain. Measures 32 x 39 cm. Oval platter decorated with a chinoiserie landscape comprising pavilions, figures, bridges, vegetation and lake elements, surrounded by a richly ornamented floral and geometric border. The composition reflects the Orientalist taste popularised by European manufacturers in the 19th century.
