224 Edgar DEGAS (1834–1917), Dancer adjusting the shoulder strap of her bodice Bronze sculpture with a nuanced light brown patina, signed ‘Degas’ Lost-wax casting by Hébrard. Bears the foundry’s stamp and the number ‘64/F’ H. 35.4 x W. 15.7 x D. 10.6 cm Cast from the yellow-brown wax model (NGA, Mellon Collection), created between 1882 and 1895 (dated by Rewald) and cast between 1917 and 1939. Provenance: former collection of Paul Baudouin (1894–1964), banker and politician. Bibliography: J.
