39 China: An exceptional large porcelain jar with a lid, decorated with flowers painted in shades of blue. The decoration was probably intended for the Ottoman market. High-fire blue decoration, known as ‘under-glaze’. Condition
: a chip on the lid, which has been repaired. The Fô dog-shaped fretel is made of wood and replaces an original porcelain fretel in the shape of a stylised lotus bud. Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period (1662–1722), early 18th century. Height: 83 cm. Max. diameter: 46 cm
