Description
200 Helmet of Glory presented to Napoleon I by the city of Antwerp.
A rare and exceptional antique-style helmet, carved with oak leaves and a lictor’s fasces, surmounted by an imposing gilded wooden eagle. This eagle was most certainly presented by the city of Antwerp to Napoleon I in 1805, whilst he was staying in the city. Slight damage to the base, crack on the eagle’s wings. First half of the 19th century.
