LEROY. A cage clock with a gilded bronze case and bevelled glass. White dial with Roman numeral hour markers, signed LeROY & Fils, Galerie Montpensier at the Palais Royal in Paris, with blued steel hands known as ‘Breguet’ hands. Movement and striking mechanism are wound from the front of the dial. Movement signed Leroy & Fils and numbered 8856. Brocot-style suspension. Chimes for the half-hours and full hours. 19th century. Height: 36 cm. Width: 23.5 cm. Depth: 17 cm. (A small chip in the rear glass).
