Restorations
A lost self-portrait by Frans Hals is known from an engraving made in 1779 by Richard Brookshaw. On the date of the engraving, the original painting is said to be in the Cabinet of the Count of Cuypers and Rymenam in Brussels (see C. Grimm, Frans Hals, Stuttgart 1989, p.66, f. no. 61a, reproduced).
