A collection of facsimiles in a document holder entitled ‘Ten Curious and Rare Documents Collected up to 1830’, comprising: - A typescript listing the titles of the documents and accompanying commentary. A tribute from the ‘Sanogyl’ laboratory to the dental profession. ‘Les Reliques émouvantes de l’Histoire’ collection, published by M. D., Paris. - After Louis PASTEUR (1822–1895), “Portrait of Sophie Roch”, a signed and dated black-and-white print from 1839. Mademoiselle Roch (1819–1891) was a friend of the Pasteur family. She was portrayed by Louis Pasteur in his early days as a pastel artist, when he was just sixteen years old. The daughter of François Emmanuel Roch, she married Alexandre Charrière, a winegrower and childhood friend of Louis Pasteur, in June 1847. The original pastel is now held in the Pasteur Museum’s department of graphic arts. Dimensions: 21 cm x 16 cm - Nine anecdotal letters about eminent figures from French history, such as Napoleon, Richelieu, Victor Hugo and Rousseau. Printed on paper.
