Description
Set of silver cutlery;
violin, fillet and shell design, reworked in the 1830s with the addition of palmette and scroll motifs. The spatula is engraved with ‘JB’ in Gothic script. The set comprises:
- 12 dessert spoons
- One sprinkling spoon
- 12 half-spoons
- 18 coffee spoons
- 5 salt scoops, with a shell-shaped bowl
- 2 sugar tongs (one split)
Paris 1819–1838, (950°/°°); Silversmith: Charles-Salomon Mahler, registered in 1824 and ceased trading in 1841
Included is a silver sprinkling spoon, double-fluted design,
and a spatula engraved with ‘GD’.
