Silver cutlery set; Louis XVI style, the spoons chiselled with medallions surrounded by ribbon-like bands, scrolls and foliage; the handles chiselled with bands and mouldings. The spoons are monogrammed: EK. In its original wooden case lined with kidskin, signed R. Michel Gainier. Paris. Minerve hallmarks, (950°/°°); Parisian work from the first half of the 20th century. Silversmiths: Olier and Caron. Hallmarked on 15 November 1910 and struck out on 22 June 1934; a new hallmark was struck on 22 June 1934 and struck out on 1 May 1936, 39 Rue de Turbigo, Paris. It comprises: - 12 large cutlery sets plus 6 forks - 12 dessert cutlery sets - 12 fish cutlery sets - one fish serving set - four petit four sets - one gravy ladle - 12 cake forks - 12 teaspoons - 12 mocha spoons - 12 large knives, with steel blades and silver-plated handles - 12 dessert knives, steel blades, silver-plated handles - one cheese knife - one carving knife, steel blades, silver-plated handles - one asparagus tongs - one ladle - a salad server - a stew spoon - a cake server - a strawberry server Weight of silver pieces: 7395 g.
