Minerve hallmarks (950°/°°); Crafted by Puiforcat, 20th century Weight of silver pieces: 3456g Gross weight of silver-plated pieces: 1723g Built in the purest Art Deco spirit, the Hôtel Martinez, an icon of the Croisette in Cannes, remains one of the symbols of the splendour and elegance of the French Riviera. Its monumental façade, both understated and imposing, is distinguished by the precision of its lines, enlivened by the rhythmic projections of the balconies and the fluted stonework, which captures and sculpts the light. It was most likely this architecture, at once refined and solemn, that inspired Jean Puiforcat when he designed the Cannes collection in 1928. The silversmith transposes the typical Art between geometry, verticality and functional elegance. The cutlery’s silhouette, deliberately slender and structured, is accentuated by a curved relief enhanced with five rings, recalling the repetitive rhythms and architectural motifs of the Cannes façade.
