Active from 1794 to 1821, he notably produced several sets of chairs and armchairs for the royal family and the Swedish castles of Hylinge and Gripsholm, now preserved at the Royal Palace. He is a representative of the Gustavian style, which became predominant from the 1780s onwards in Swedish architecture and the decorative arts, named after King Gustav III of Sweden, who, following his stay at Versailles in 1771, introduced his taste for French furniture to the court.
