The armchair we present here was made after a well-known model from the late Regency period (c. 1830) listed in Geoffrey Beard & Judith Goodison’s publication "English Furniture 1500–1840". It incorporates elements of Thomas Hope’s decorative vocabulary – illustrated in his book “Household Furniture and Interior Decoration” published in 1807 – as well as features of the Neo-Renaissance style emerging in the early 1830s.
