HERMÈS, ‘Marqueterie de pierres dures d’Orient et d’Occident’ collection, A set of tableware in polychrome Limoges porcelain, described as follows in the Hermès catalogue: "This porcelain collection draws inspiration from the marbling technique practised in 16th-century Florence: an original creation, its decoration features, in the form of trompe-l’œil, semi-precious stones such as lapis lazuli, jade, silicified wood, amber and agate. No fewer than twenty-three colours are required to create the wide variety of motifs, which interweave flowers, birds, fans and pearl necklaces.
