[Geographical map]. [Russia]. SANSON (Nicolas). Map of the Russian Empire in Europe, divided into its principal states. By Samson, engineer and geographer. Paris: published by Jean, [between 1805 and 1829]. A copperplate engraving, with coloured borders, approx. 45 x 62 cm, on a sheet measuring 53 x 75 cm, folded and bound in its original pink cardboard cover (small holes at the corners of the folds, cover worn). A new edition of this map, probably dating from the time of Napoleon’s Russian campaigns. Date based on the address, but the actual print may have been produced before 1812.
