[Factums]. [Catalonia]. [La Mothe-Houdancourt]. The four factums for Sir Philippes de La Mothe Houdancourt, Duke of Cardonne, & Marshal of France, formerly Viceroy & Captain-General of Catalonia, against the King’s Attorney General at the Parliament of Grenoble. No place, no publisher [Paris, 1648 or 1649]. 4 parts in one in-4 volume, 19th-century brown sheepskin, spine with 5 raised bands, title and date in gold, compartments edged with a triple gilt line, covers decorated with a double frame of two gilt lines with a repeated monogram at the corners and a coat of arms in the centre, red edges (scuffing, worm damage to the upper cover, coat of arms burnt, title blackened, water stains). At the end of this volume is a petition from La Mothe-Houdancourt to Parliament, paginated 5–27. The coat of arms affixed to the covers is burnt; it bears three shamrocks and a crescent in the chief, and must have been salvaged from an earlier binding. The monograms are those of La Mothe-Houdancourt.
