In-8, [2] leaves, XVI-480 pp., [2] leaves (bookseller’s catalogue, approval), French, plates, contemporary mottled havana sheepskin, spine with 5 raised bands, red title label, decorated panels, red edges (slight rubbing, moderate sporadic foxing). Third edition, revised and corrected by the author, with a summary of his views on François Mauriceau’s *Aphorisms*. It is illustrated with a portrait of the author on the frontispiece, engraved on copper by Louis le Grand after Chardin, and with five folding plates engraved on copper by Scotin and Le Grand.
