New Edition, enriched with beautiful engravings, and expanded to include the complete translation of the Greek plays, of which only extracts have appeared in all previous editions; and with comparisons, observations and new remarks, by Messrs de Rochefort and Du Theil, of the Royal Academy of Inscriptions and Belles-Lettres; and by M***. Paris, published by Cussac, 1785–1789. 13 vols., in-8, bound in full calfskin with ribbed spine and gilded panels in small metalwork, title labels and volume numbers in red and havana morocco.
Illustrated with 23 plates, including a frontispiece, engraved in intaglio by Masquelier, Patas, Halbou, Guttenberg, Langlois, Delignon, Texier and Petit after Marillier, Monnet, Maréchal, Defraine, Borel and Le Barbier.
Bindings are worn, with scuffing and slight splitting; there are pinholes and water stains inside.
