HALEVY (Ludovic). Madame and Monsieur Cardinal... Twelve vignettes by Edmond Morin. Paris, M. Lévy frères, 1872. In-12, azure half-percaline with slightly repaired corners, author’s name and title gilt on the spine (spine darkened, foxing). First edition. An autographed copy sent by the author to Dr Emile Blanche (1820–1893), the renowned psychiatrist and father of the painter Jacques-Emile Blanche, to whom the copy was bequeathed and who affixed his engraved bookplate to it. Provenance: Jacques-Émile Blanche (1861–1942), painter and writer, by descent.
