Paris, Libr. des Bibliophiles – Jouaust, 1873–1874. 3 in-8 volumes, cherry calfskin, spine with 5 raised bands, panels decorated with small metal filigree, author’s name, title and volume number gilded, triple gilded fillet bordering the covers, double fillet at the edges, interior lace, gilded head, untrimmed [Small successor to Simier] (spine very slightly faded, a few fingerprints). An illustrated edition featuring two frontispieces and numerous vignettes within the text. Limited edition of 500 copies printed on Holland paper. Provenance: initials ‘E. A.’ at the foot of the spine.
