Large 8vo, havana morocco, smooth spine decorated lengthwise with gilt fillets and mosaic fleurons, author’s name and title gilt, triple gilt fillet bordering the covers, double gilt fillet at the edges, blue moiré satin endpapers and half-linings, inner covers edged with morocco leather decorated with four gilt fillets and mosaic fleurons, second endpapers of marbled paper, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved [Champs Stroobants] (spine very slightly faded with small stains; severe foxing on the white endpapers). Limited edition of 550 copies: one of the 500 printed on ‘Maris’ paper (no. 186) featuring the final version of the illustrations, well bound.
