ORLÉANS (Philippe d'). A cruise to Spitsbergen, the yacht ‘Maroussia’, 1904. Paris, Impr. Chaix, [1905]. Large 8vo, fawn half-calf with period corners, spine with five raised bands, brown title label, panels decorated with small ironwork, double gilt fillet on the covers, gilt head (corners slightly rubbed). A fine copy of this work, illustrated with a colour frontispiece, numerous inset photographic reproductions and two colour fold-out maps. This copy is enhanced by a large loose-leaf colour fold-out map: ‘The Duke of Orléans’ Arctic Expedition. Itinerary of the ‘Belgica’... by Commander Gerlache. 1905’ (approx. 56 x 44 cm, minor stains). Stamp on a flyleaf: ‘a gift from the author’.
