[ALBIN-GUILLOT (Laure)]. ASPECTS OF FRANCE. Paris, 1938. In-4, paperback, cloth-bound cover, publisher’s slipcase (some flaws, including a slightly rubbed slipcase, loose binding, a few foxing spots). A collective work to which Claudel, Maurois, Valéry and Fargue, amongst others, contributed, published by the French government to mark the visit to France by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. The first chapter is illustrated with 13 full-page photographic reproductions based on works by Laure Albin-Guillot. Printed in a run of 1,000 copies; this is no. 843, with a handwritten ‘ex dono’ dedication signed to Lady Churchill. Provenance: Victor George Spencer (1934–2017), 3rd Viscount Churchill and 5th Baron Churchill, by descent.
