(ILE DE FRANCE-NORMANDY-75-76) Louis DENIS (1725–1794) – “The Road to Rouen via Pontoise and Magny...” - 18th century. Engraving enhanced with watercolour on laid paper by Louis Denis in 1776, published in his famous collection of maps entitled *Le Conducteur français*. Engraved by Chalmandrier. The map begins in the capital, passes through Franconville and follows the plain northwards towards the Oise, then crosses the Norman Vexin via Écouis and Fleury-sur-Andelle, before offering travellers a panoramic view as they descend the hills towards Rouen, the capital of Normandy. (150 x 450 mm) – Condition A–. Map with a tear. Press folds. Stains and foxing.
